Butuan City —- A newly identified drug personality labeled as pusher and user was busted after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer, the police report said on Wednesday, May 27.

PCol Canilo Fuentes, Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) City Director, identified the suspect as Gel Vincent Gay Gersava, 23 years old, arrested by joint operatives of BCPO Intelligence Branch, Drug Enforcement Unit, Butuan City Mobile Force Company, Butuan City Police Station 3, and PDEA RO13 in Barangay Libertad, Butuan City.

Gersava, a newly identified drug personality categorized as pusher and user, yielded a heat-sealed transparent sachet containing suspected โ€˜shabuโ€™ with an estimated weight of 0.2 grams worth P2,360 as the object of sale; two heat-sealed transparent sachet containing suspected โ€˜shabuโ€™ in his possession with an estimated weight of 0.3g worth P3,540; marked money worth P1,500; a cellular phone, and other personal belongings.

โ€˜The operation was duly witnessed by representatives from the media, local barangay official and DOJ,โ€™ PCol Fuentes said. โ€˜We have been exerting efforts to curb down criminality in the city most especially now that we are embracing the new normal,โ€™ he concluded. ###

Butuan City —- An active member of Militia ng Bayan GF4A from Barangay Tungao and listed Top 1 Most Wanted Person – City Level for Frustrated Murder has been arrested here on Monday, May 25.

Armed with Warrant of Arrest, operatives of Butuan City Police Office Intelligence Branch, Intelligence operatives of BCMFC, elements of Butuan City Police Station 5 and 23rd IB arrested Alexer Jaberola Magante also known as โ€˜Erningโ€™, 50 years old, an active member of Militia ng Bayan GF4A at his residence on Sitio Caimito, Barangay Tungao, Butuan City.

Magante has a standing Warrant of Arrest for Frustrated Murder issued by Presiding Judge Hon. Emmanuel E Esctaron of Regional Trial Court Branch 2 dated June 22, 2016 with bail bond recommended to P 200,000.

Police reports said that Magante was among the insurgent group who ambushed the operating troops in the hinterlands of the city that caused injury to a police officer.

โ€˜After almost four years in hiding from authorities, Magante is now under the custody of the arresting unit as he waits for his commitment order,โ€™ BCPO City Director PCol Canilo Agua Fuentes said. ###

Butuan City —- Thirteen victims, including a 1-year-old baby, was successfully rescued from a cybersex den here on Thursday, May 21, through a joint operation wherein two suspects were arrested with unregistered firearms.

Members of the Women and Children Protection Center-Mindanao Field Unit (WCPC-MFU), Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 13 and 10, Regional Intelligence Division 13, Regional Women and Children Protection Desks 13, Department of Social Welfare and Development 13, Butuan City Police Station 3, WCPD and Special Weapons And Tactics, DOJ Regional Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking 13, Regional Anti-Trafficking Task Force (RATTF) 13 swooped down on a reported cybersex den at Purok 5, Barangay Ambago, Butuan City and rescued 13 victims, an adult lady and 12 minors from the said place.

The raid of the reported cybersex den also led to the arrest of a female suspect, 28 years old, and a resident of the aforementioned place.

Operatives recovered assorted cellphones, tablet phone, assorted identification, and remittance cards, assorted remittance receipts, lubricant, and a router through Warrant to Search Seized Examine Computer Data. Moreover, searching and/seizing officers also found four improvised firearms: a replica of Caliber 45, a caliber .38 revolver with six live ammunitions, and bladed weapons allegedly owned by the live-in partner of the female suspect.

Charges were immediately prepared for filing in court against the initially arrested suspects for violation of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act (RA 9208), Anti-Child Pornography Act (RA 9775), Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 (RA 10364), Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175) and Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act (RA 7610)
.
Meanwhile, the rescued victims were brought to the DSDW 13 office where they will undergo psychosocial therapy.

โ€œThis operation was actively supported by the International Justice Mission (NGO); Australian Federal Police and Justice, Peace & Integrity of Creation-Integrated Development Center, Inc.,โ€™ Butuan City Police Office City Director PCol Canilo Agua Fuentes supplemented. โ€˜We will make sure that justice will be served as the investigation is in full swing,โ€™ he concluded. ###

Drunken man arrested for illegal possession and discharge of firearm in Butuan

Butuan City —- Amid the peaceful implementation of General Community Quarantine in the city except for its five barangays, a drunken man got arrested for illegal possession and discharge of firearm last night, May 20.
Acting on a concerned citizen report of an alleged commotion at P-1, Galaxy, Barangay Banza, Butuan City, the police force of Butuan City Police Station 1 got hold of Dionisio Dihito Yagong, 45 years old, at the place of incident in possession of an unregistered Caliber 38 with no serial number and two live ammunition.
Initial investigation revealed that Yagong was already drunk after having a drinking spree with his friends when he got home and noticed that someone was stoning his house. Thereafter, Yagong got unruly and immediately took out his unregistered firearm and allegedly fired three times.
